India striker S. Karthi can be part of the Tamil Nadu males’s hockey group within the thirty seventh National Games to be held in Goa from October 25 to November 9.
The 22-year-old from Ariyalur will be part of the 40-day preparatory hockey coaching camp, which begins on the SDAT-Mayor Radhakrishnan Stadium right here on September 15, Friday, after the National group leaves for Hangzhou Asian Games.
“Karthi’s presence will be very big. It’s a great boost for the other players. He can attack and defend. Our chances are brighter with his inclusion in the National Games. We hope to be on the podium and if happens to be our day we can even win gold,” mentioned Charles Dixon, Tamil Nadu’s head coach, to The Hindu.
At the camp, there can be 4 groups coaching. The State males’s and girls’s groups will put together for the National Games and the sub-junior (girls and boys) groups for the National sub-junior championships to be held right here from October 17 to 24.

Charles conceded that the Tamil Nadu males’s group efficiency within the MCC-Murugappa All-India invitation match held not too long ago was a little bit of a disappointment, however reasoned that it was attributable to senior and higher gamers taking part in for various groups within the match.
