Indian shuttler Sameer Verma ended his marketing campaign on the Indonesia Open Super 1000 match with a straight-game loss to world quantity 5 Lee Zii Jia of Malaysia within the second spherical right here on Thursday.
The 27-year-old, a former world no. 11, went down 10-21 13-21 to sixth seeded Lee in a 43-minute males’s singles match.
This was Sameer’s fifth loss to Lee in seven conferences.
Ashwini Ponnappa and N. Sikki Reddy additionally bowed out of the match after dropping 16-21 13-21 to prime seeds Chen Qing Chen and Jia Yi Fan of China in ladies’s doubles competitors.
H. S. Prannoy will face Hong Kong’s Ng Ka Long Angus later within the day, whereas MR Arjun and Dhruv Kapila will tackle China’s Liu Yu Chen and Ou Xuan Yi.
