    Sahitya parishat raises objections to revised textbooks

    Hopping on the bandwagon of these protesting in opposition to the revision of faculty textbooks by the Rohith Chakrathirtha-led committee, the Bengaluru unit of the Kannada Sahithya Parishat has raised objections to the neglect of icons from Karnataka within the revision course of.

    In a launch, unit president N. Prakash Murthy stated that classes on State icons of the Bhakti and Sufi actions, similar to Akka Mahadevi, Purandaradasa, Kanakadasa, and Santa Shishunala Sharif had been eliminated, whereas nationwide icons had been given prominence.

    Meanwhile, the Karnataka unit of the Congress staged a protest in entrance of the Mahatma Gandhi’s statue on the Secretariat in Bengaluru on Thursday, urging the State authorities to withdraw the revised textbooks.

    KPCC president D.Okay. Shivakumar, Leader of the Opposition within the Legislative Assembly Siddaramaiah, Leader of the Opposition within the Legislative Council B.Okay. Hariprasad, and occasion legislators and supporters participated within the protest.
