    Ending the suspense over its Rajya Sabha nominees, the Congress late on Sunday night launched its listing of 10 candidates for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections.

    In the get together dominated States of Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, all of the nominees are “outsiders,” negating calls for from some quarters that berths from these poll-bound States must be given to native leaders.

    The listing does not embody Ghulam Nabi Azad and Anand Sharma, each key members of G-23 or the ginger group that had been pushing for inside reforms and collective management in a letter to get together president Sonia Gandhi in August 2020.

    However, two G-23 leaders have been included as Mukul Wasnik shall be fielded from Rajasthan whereas Vivek Tankha will come from Madhya Pradesh.

    Similarly, leaders from Uttar Pradesh who’re believed to be near Ms. Vadra have been accommodated. These embody Rajeev Shukla who shall be fielded from Chhattisgarh, Imran Pratapgarhi from Maharashtra, and Pramod Tiwari from Rajasthan.

    Mr. Tiwari’s daughter, Aradhana Mishra can also be an MLA from Uttar Pradesh. 

    Former Lok Sabha member from Supaul (Bihar), Ranjeet Ranjan, would be the second candidate from Chhattisgarh.

    Though there was a lot hypothesis about rehabilitating key G-23 leaders like Mr. Azad and Mr. Sharma, they’ve been not noted. However, each have been made members of the Political Advisory Group that can often advise Congress president Sonia Gandhi frequently.

    The most outspoken G-23 chief, Kapil Sibal, had give up the get together earlier within the week and filed his nomination as an impartial candidate with the backing of Samajwadi Party.
