“Further, Department of Revenue has been advised to check the illegal imports, under-invoicing and mis-declaration while importing single-use plastic cigarette lighters,” she stated.
Replying to a different query, she stated there is no such thing as a scarcity of potato and wheat within the nation.
“Moreover, the import of potato and wheat is negligible. In so far as crude palm oil is concerned, India is dependent on its import to bridge the demand supply gap and the duty of crude palm oil has been made nil to ensure its availability at affordable prices,” she stated.
