Government aiming to scale up coal manufacturing goal to 1.25 billion tonnes by FY25
The building of Tori-Shivpur-Kathautia railway line in Jharkhand is probably going so as to add round 125 million tonnes (MT) coal evacuation capability and assist in lowering transportation of dry gas through street, an official assertion stated on Wednesday.

At current, coal produced on the North Karanapura is transported through Barkakana-Daltonganj railway line of the East Central Railway, connecting Gomoh and Dehri-on-Son through Barkakana loop.
Besides, a 44.37-kilometre Tori-Shivpur double railway line has been created by the Coal India arm.
“The development of third line on the same alignment is under construction at an additional capital of Rs 894 crore, which is likely to be operationalised by May 2023,” the Coal Ministry stated in an announcement.
Further, 49-km new rail line –Shivpur-Kathautia– has been envisaged and is being constructed via a project-specific particular objective car, which can present one other exit for coal evacuation through Koderma to the trunk railway line from Howrah to Delhi.
The authorities is aiming to scale up the coal manufacturing goal to 1.25 billion tonnes by FY25.
