Strategy Analytics’ report confirmed how Apple’s M-series processor household modified the corporate’s trajectory
Apple has established itself as a peerless chief in Arm-based PC processors with nearly 90% of the income share. The iPhone maker’s lead accrues from its M-series chipsets, in response to a report by market intelligence agency Strategy Analytics.
“Apple’s M-series family of processors set the benchmark and gave Apple a 2–3-year lead over the rest of the Arm-based PC processor vendors,” Sravan Kundojjala, Director of Handset Component Technologies at Strategy Analytics, stated in an announcement.
In the cellular computing chip market, Qualcomm leads with a 34% income share. Apple comes second with a 31% income share, adopted by MediaTek with 24%. Qualcomm is alleged to increase its funding in processors for PC with Nuvia CPU cores.
“We believe that Arm-based notebook PC processor offers an attractive opportunity to Qualcomm, given the company’s growing collection of high-performance processor assets,” Kundojjala added.
The analysis agency famous that the Arm-based cellular computing market outperformed the x86-based cellular computing market in revenues and models. x86 is a chip system structure developed by Intel 4 a long time in the past.
Strategy Analytics estimates the whole Arm-based cellular computing chip income in 2021 to be nearly 20% greater than x86 structure, not together with chipsets and discrete GPUs.
