All ports in Andhra Pradesh can be linked with four-lane highways at a value of ₹20,000 crore, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari mentioned right here on March 3.
Speaking on the Global Investors Summit (GIS), Mr. Gadkari declared that these port connectivity enhancing roads can be constructed regardless of a port being a minor, main port, personal or state port.
The passing of three industrial corridors, Visakhapatnam – Chennai, Chennai – Bengaluru, and Hyderabad – Bengaluru, by way of the State has been essential for this choice.
Noting that highway infrastructure in AP is essential, he mentioned, “I always tell people about the famous statement of American President John Kennedy that American roads are not good because America rich but America is rich because Americans roads are good.”
Recalling his days as a delivery minister, Mr. Gadkari noticed that transporting items between Chhattisgarh and Visakhapatnam was a troublesome process, and determined to assemble Raipur – Visakhapatnam expressway hall, which can slash journey time to five-and-half hours.
Moreover, Mr. Gadkari mentioned a 430 km mission connecting Nagpur and Vijayawada may also be commenced.
According to the Road Transport and Highway Minister, the price of logistics at 16% is an enormous drawback in India, which he vowed to convey down. He famous that it was 10% in China and 12% every within the United States of America and the European Union (EU).
Mr. Gadkari assured that the price of logistics can be diminished in 5 years’ time.

Further, he mentioned that the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways is concentrating on the event of greenfield expressways, that are key for industrial growth and added that nobody will make investments with out these.
Five greenfield expressways are being developed at a value of ₹30,000 crore, he added.
